My Songs.

I Believe In A Hill Called Mount Calvary

There have been times of doubt in my life. Those times were usually when I was not calling on God as often as I should have. He was always there, waiting to listen. When Jesus died, he left his Holy Spirit to speak to us, giving us signs of direction for our lives. As you listen to this song, I have already asked that the Holy spirit fill you with his Holy Presence. I pray that you will hear him and once again open yourself to his direction. He already knows all about you. He’s been waiting to carry your load and guide you to your best path. Be constant, it’s so worth it. Believe.

When He Was On The Cross I was On His Mind

So unworthy of such mercy – yet, when he was on the cross, I was on his mind. God made each one of us something that special.

Just Build My Mansion

At the age of nine, this was the second song I ever sang in church. I first heard Jimmy Swaggart sing it and best I can describe, I felt the calm of the Holy Spirit. Jimmy Swaggart’s music provided much needed solace in my house at that age. “Just Build My Mansion” became a favorite song of many members of our church, as well as my parents. My cousin, Linda Lazano played the piano for me and together we gave it as much Pentecostal flair as our conservative Sothern Baptist church would allow. This song would later be the song I would sing at my father’s funeral. He died at age 46, after many years of battling depression. He committed suicide. He was a Christian man that loved the Lord, but suffered serious emotional strife that I like to think helped me as much as hurt. As for the song’s title, I think we all have a vision and I guess this is mine.

Through It All

This is a song of hope and encouragement. I’m still learning this one more every day.

The Old Rugged Cross Made The Difference

This song reminds me that our life here was not meant to be a joy ride. Jesus’ life here was our example. It wasn’t easy and it wasn’t self gratifying. He understood he was so much more than the shell of a man – He was a Child of God and knew his father’s love and plan for eternity.

He Looked Beyond My Fault

This song moves me every time I hear it. He saw something worth saving.

My House is Full

This is a song my Aunt Ruby used to sing with our church’s male quartet. As a little girl, I loved this song and was in awe of the way Aunt Ruby could delivery it. She had a voice similar to Mahalia Jackson and every bit the strength and conviction.

Daystar

This song took on a whole new meaning when at a particular time in my life I was unable to shake the demons that would try and rob me of any peace I’d ever known. This has become my testimony. I talk in more detail as I go to different places and minister through music because I want God to use this. God never gave up on me. In my darkness his love shown through and his mercy rewrote my life.

Mercy Rewrote My Life

Through my trials God has taught me a compassion I can’t imagine learning any other way. I desperately needed his mercy and forgiveness and it changed me. He gave me another chance and its different when you don’t feel you deserve it. I still don’t understand just how much or why he loves me so, but now I am certain. I have seen it, felt it and promised to share it.

Just A Closer Walk With Thee

This is a prayer in a song. It relaxes me and makes me feel good inside.

You Raise Me Up

This is a more contemporary song for my taste, but I like the message. It reminds me of the many times I’ve been so weak, and HE came out strong!
